Spatio-temporal analysis of knowledge on the linkage between urban green spaces and climate change

This bibliometric analysis investigates the spatial and temporal distribution of research on Urban Green Spaces and Climate Change using the Scopus database. Microsoft Excel 2020, ArcMap, Ghephi, and R studio's Bibliometrix package with Biblioshiny were used to analyze the retrieved scientific productions. The results reveal that the study encompasses scientific works dating from 2001. A total of 1,274 contributions, predominantly articles, were examined and have generated 31,135 citations, indicating significant research interest. Journals such as 'Sustainability', 'Urban Forestry and Urban Greening', and 'Science of the Total Environment' were the most prolific publishers. The study also highlights extensive international collaboration with a major share of contributions from countries like China, the USA, Italy, Germany, and the UK, emphasizing the global scale and recent focus of the research.
